Intellectual Property (IP) Theft Policy
Purpose
EntreprendreDNA is committed to fostering innovation and creativity. This Intellectual Property (IP) Theft Policy aims to protect the company’s intellectual property rights and prevent the unauthorized use, access, or disclosure of confidential information. This policy applies to all employees, contractors, consultants, and any other individuals with access to EntreprendreDNA’s intellectual property.
Definitions
- Intellectual Property (IP): Refers to creations of the mind, such as inventions; literary and artistic works; designs; and symbols, names, and images used in commerce. It includes but is not limited to copyrights, patents, trademarks, trade secrets, and confidential information.
- IP Theft: The unauthorized use, access, disclosure, or misappropriation of intellectual property belonging to EntreprendreDNA or its clients.
- Confidential Information: Any information not publicly known and considered valuable to EntreprendreDNA, including but not limited to business strategies, financial information, customer data, research and development data, software code, and technical know-how.
Policy Guidelines
- Respect for IP Rights: All individuals must respect the intellectual property rights of EntreprendreDNA and others. Unauthorized use, reproduction, distribution, or modification of any IP is strictly prohibited.
- Confidentiality: Confidential information must be handled with the utmost care. It should only be accessed or disclosed on a need-to-know basis and used solely for legitimate business purposes.
- Security Measures: Individuals must adhere to the company’s security protocols to protect IP from unauthorized access or disclosure. This includes using strong passwords, avoiding sharing confidential information with unauthorized individuals, and reporting any suspected security breaches immediately.
- No Personal Use: Company resources, including computers, software, and networks, should not be used for personal activities that could compromise the security of EntreprendreDNA’s IP.
- Third-Party Agreements: When working with third-party vendors or partners, ensure that appropriate agreements are in place to protect EntreprendreDNA’s intellectual property rights.
- Reporting Violations: Any suspected or actual violations of this policy must be reported to the appropriate management or the legal department promptly.
Consequences of Non-Compliance
Violations of this IP Theft Policy will be taken seriously and may result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to:
- Written warnings
- Suspension
- Termination of employment or contract
- Legal action to protect EntreprendreDNA’s IP rights
Policy Review
This IP Theft Policy will be reviewed and updated regularly to ensure its continued effectiveness and relevance to the changing business landscape.
Effective Date
This IP Theft Policy is effective as of June 17, 2024.
